As of the Second World War, the American supremacy was imposed in the artistic sphere. Different expressions such as "Abstract
Expressionism", "Action
Painting" ou "Post
Painterly Abstraction" qualified the principal artistic tendency.
After De Kooning, Jackson Pollock was an emblematic
figure from the beginning. The vision of his art in comparison to the
diverse European tendency (for example lyrical abstraction) is
quite interesting in order to understand these changes.
